About Me

I was saved decades ago, but it was not until some ten years ago that I embarked on this journey of cultivating spiritual growth. I grew up going to church, but stopped going in my teens. I prayed occasionally when I wanted something, but mostly lived according to worldly standards. About 12 years ago, I looked in the mirror and for the first time, saw who I was—a bitter and angry person in a horribly wrong relationship, materialistic and full of false pride. If I thought I was a Christian, my lifestyle was certainly not reflecting that identity. That was my awakening. I became uncomfortable with the way I was living, so I dusted off one of the Bibles I had acquired over the years and started to read. Friends, it is not enough to be a baby believer or a lazy believer. We are each planted for the glory of the Lord with the commission to produce fruit and to do good works.

In Luke 22:32, Jesus tells Simon, "...when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers". This blog site is my way of doing that. Each one is a lightbulb moment from my time in the Word, when areas where I needed growth were illuminated and the Holy Spirit helped me discern how to navigate life's circumstances with faith and hope. When I turned back, I was hungry for resources to support my growth. And I believe that there may be others who also want to become more like Jesus told us to but just don't know how to go about it. I am passionate about inspiring and helping others to cultivate what matters most. My goal is to highlight Biblical truths, share insights about growing up and point you to additional resources to further your understanding.

My prayer is that these resources will help you and me go deeper, and activate scripture in our lives. The mission is to strengthen you in your faith and encourage you to grow up from milk-drinking believers to Ambassadors of Jesus Christ.

Sincerely,

Elva Mitchell Tokpah
